Fashion Friday: Outfits Perfect For Crazy Spring Weather

When I was getting dressed this morning the forecast was really confusing- sunny and nice but also really windy which makes it feel cold. So I ended up in white ankle jeans but topped with a beige turtleneck sweater and pale loafers. Eliza in my office said I was dressed like Diane Keaton in “Something’s Gotta Give”, which was basically the highest compliment EVER because my life goal is to become a middle aged woman in a Nancy Meyers movie, living in cashmere in the summer and drinking white wine at the beach while discussing my existential emotional crises. I mean, let’s be honest here.
Ok, back on the topic- the weather this time of year can be super schizophrenic and hard to dress for. It’s ALL about layers and the dichotomy of spring and fall looks blended into one. Sweaters can TOTALLY be worn with shorts in my book, and it’s the ONLY time of year when closed toed mules are the perfect footwear. So here are a bunch of outfits that work for those up and down temperature days!

Scheming: Six Spring Tablescapes

I rarely get the chance to entertain, but when I do- I love pulling together a really fun tablescape. Someday I hope to have a big enough storage space to house lots of fun options of dinnerware, accessories and glassware! Until then, I just have to scheme in Photoshop! (via Pink Pagoda)…

Our Guest / Henry’s Bath Re-Renovation

The re-enamel job was terribly done and after about two years it started chipping and cracking. Now sheets of it are coming off the tub in 2″ sections and it looks horrible (and is not super safe with a little one around). And once it’s been re-enameled, it can’t be done again. So now I have to rip out the tub and tile to replace it, which means also demoing the the old archway framing the tub, which means replacing the floor.  It’s a domino effect! Luckily, my custom vanity and top can stay, as well as the new toilet.  So while we’re doing all this, I figured let’s give this bath a facelift too. I still love how it looks, but now that it’s mostly Henry’s bath, I want to make it a little more masculine.

I love this art (print from Artfully Walls, frame is antique) and am kind of using it as a jumping off point for the design.
