Current Design Crushes…

I have total litestyle ADD. I love that we live in a suburb close to the city in which we are walking distance from everything– coffee, restaurants, my office and the subway. But I TOTALLY hallucinate/ dream of a life in more of a country setting… would I be able to deal? I think so. Especially if there were miniature farm animals involved. But for now I’ll just have to follow the work of designers living that life or design for that life.  Here are two I  am totally inspired by:

I LOVE following on Instagram– her little situation up in Canada is the stuff my dreams are made of. Historic stone house? Check. Miniature horses? Check. Gorgeous country-chic interiors? Check.

I have a massive design crush on her entryway ALONE!

The Green Room

I have been OBSESSED with this room at the Lake Forest Showhouse by since the moment I saw it on Instagram.  Those green lacquer walls and the mix of modern and traditional is PERFECTION.  This color is HOT HOT HOT right now. I’ve been seeing vendors like Ballard stocking , so you know it’s a color that is en fuego .

An Adorable Bedroom + Awesome (Affordable) Wallpapers

Sorry this is so late you guys- between my renovation, Henry, work and LIFE I’ve been running behind on everything for the past few days. Which I hate. But at least I’m showing up, right? :)
So I saw this picture on last week (btw about dogs and their designers looks so awesome)- and I just fell in love. It’s an old image from and this space is by Suzanne Tucker….and it’s so damn charming.  Granny-chic is making a fast and furious comeback in a BIG way these days (more on that another day) and this room is a great mix of that and some more modern colors.  I’d love this kind of scheme for a tween/teen girls room. The beds are killer (probably vintage) but I found some nice alternates below.

Coastal Living’s Idea House: A Master Class in Decorating

I had grand plans to attend the in Newport recently but we had a Henry meltdown/ nap protest and I didn’t get to go. But I am going to try to get there because HOLY HELL it is spectacular. One of my junior designers Kristen went and took a zillion pics and I’m psyched to show you because , the designer of the house and one of my personal favorites of all time, did such an incredible job that I wanted to walk through what makes this house an incredible example of impeccable decorating. I want to LIVE in this room….

This Old House Renovation: Jill Goldberg

I’m back! A week off from blogging was just what I needed to get excited about sharing some cool stuff with you guys the rest of the summer. We had an overwhelming, but nice, trip to Maine and some QT with Henry which was wonderful. He’s growing faster than I can even fathom and so time away from work is crucial for me as a mom. But MAN does it feel great to be back at work! :) I have a new accessory collection launching this week, a re-branding effort underway and a new renovation project starting at my house in August- so lots and lots going on!
To kick off the week I wanted to share with you this incredible project done by fellow Boston designer, and friend, (who owns , Boston’s best home store in my opinion!)  She was chosen to do this renovation project in conjunction with and I absolutely LOVE it and have not seen much of it on the ol’ interwebs so I thought it would be fun to share as well as some insight from Jill on the design! The clients wanted a very serene, California vibe that took cues from the style and age of the old home, and I certainly feel it was a very successful result!

This picture had me at hello- from the modern bubble chandelier by Oly (I found a more affordable one- see bottom of post) to the oak cabinetry, wall paneling, William Morris paper, modern slipcovered chairs and sculptural table….it’s an A+++ in my book (and also one of Jill’s favorite rooms for it’s timeless yet modern feel).
