The Green Room

I have been OBSESSED with this room at the Lake Forest Showhouse by since the moment I saw it on Instagram.  Those green lacquer walls and the mix of modern and traditional is PERFECTION.  This color is HOT HOT HOT right now. I’ve been seeing vendors like Ballard stocking , so you know it’s a color that is en fuego .

Live Like Jackie O (For A Price)

It was announced this week that Jackie O’s childhood home, Merrywood in McLean, Virginia, is up for sale. (seriously, who has that much money???)  And while that price makes this home insanely, insanely unattainable short of Jeff Bezos (P.S. Amazon is taking over the WORLD)- it’s so fun to look at, no? Even Andrew sent me the link to this as a blog suggestion!

A Tiny But Mighty Cottage.

I spotted this spread in (in another life I was a Southern belle for sure) of a compact, 800 square foot cottage in Florida and fell in love. While I often-time crave a larger house (Henry’s toys mate and duplicate while we sleep, I’m certain) I have always LOVED smaller houses. Not “silly-tiny” (I’m looking at you, “tiny house” trend) but perfectly laid out, livable tiny where everything has a place and yet there is a place for everything. This little gem did not disappoint!

The low-country front porch is delightful, as is the style of the entire place! Classic design done right.

Nooks and Crannies: Tiny, Cozy Spaces to Get You Through Winter

The crappiest part of winter is upon us, and if you live in a cold climate I bet you feel a little like me.  You just want to be cozy.  Nothing sounds better to me right now then a hot cup of coffee (or glass of wine) snuggled up by a fire with some good reading material.  Creating built in reading nooks, window seats or even daybeds is such a fabulous way to add charm to your home and create extra enjoyable space within very small square footage.
